thanks
I think that the train coming thru during Old Man is absolutly classic and the band plays through it like it was part of the song. I think that this is a great introduction to the band for the first timer for that reason alone.
having said that if you if you go by download count or star ratings you may end up with a false impression of the band. I recomend giving as many shows a listen as you can and decide for yourself. every show has differant energy. I give 5 stars to most shows because I feel so grateful to be able to listen them that they almost all feel like 5 stars to me. so thats my perspective on star ratings and every one has there own...
i find smarks and heikkis recordings to be some of my favorites to listen to :)
anyone new to RRE may want to search those out

Better shows are out there ...
... this is nice but there are better and it's unfortunate they don't get the listen this one does becuase it a "curator's pick" has been the same for 2 years. How about changing it up ?

sweet, sweet, sweet
The sweetest RRE recording I've found. Will be playing this one at work again, and again, and again. A really nice mix of songs, and the sound quality is outstanding.

Great Show
Pretty much the 1st time I have listened to Railroad Earth; I couldn't have been more impressed. Definitely a good show to listen to. Check it out.

Tits
This show couldn't get any better. Twice there is a train in the background. I love it. A train at a RAILROAD Earth show...doesn't get much better.

sick show, check out both RRE 10klf shows, both were awesome, me and a buddy drove 4500 miles this summer catchin shows including the great 10klf, but i relly wrote the interview cuz the train comin through the performance during oldman and land is crazy and if ur not expecting it, it will freak you out esp if you crank the tunes

Hard to beat the Blue Plum Festival & this recording
The acoustics and atmosphere at this show were marvelous. Railroad Earth was in excellent form and this soundtrack is outstanding. The setting where the entire town is blocked off with the stage between railroad tracks and Johnson City's 1880s buildings is hard to match. Thanks also to the internet archive for the ability to hear these live recordings by our favorite bands.

Amazing combo
Between the band being so amped up for this show, the awesome venue, and this recording this is a golden nugget of a download.
I personally hope they never move the site away from the tracks. I think it only adds to the feel of the festival and the energy level of the music.
Downtown Johnson City never saw this one coming.

Great Set!
This was a great festival. Saw Malcolm Holcombe, The Waybacks, and RRE in one afternoon. This set was a lot of fun, despite the trains! I hope Johnson City will move the site and get it away from the tracks!
The "Head" from this show is fantastic!

Train Outside my Window
This is a great recording! The band is ON. And that train! I was lost in the music while working and when the 2nd train rolled through my desktop speakers I thought "What the Hell???" and looked out my 6th floor office window - that's how pristine this recording is. Download it now!

Gotta love those trains, eh?
This is a "keeper" simply because of the train in Old Man! What a hoot, no pun intended.
Great sound, great show. The train on this reminds me of the Dead show where Steve Miller came out during Space with a train whistle and totally blew everyone's minds. Download this. It'll be traded for years! Too much fun...

Great show, Great sound
Great show and great sound. The trains are kind of freaky, super loud, like they really are coming through your living room. Makes this one sort of a one-of-a kind download.

Tremendous Show
Railroad Earth really put on a fabulous show to a festival crowd of about 25,000. The mainline of the Norfolk Southern Railway is about 15-20 feet from the stage and RRE did not miss a beat. These guys are the best showmen for a bluegrass/jam band found anywhere. Thanks for posting the concert online and the quality audio.
